Tell us what you learned about the opportunity.
I found that the opportunity is different after the second round interview. I found that the healthy food opportunity may not be as attractive becuase many interviewers claimed that they have already had a number of choices around campus. However, I found that many students are actually interested in foreign food or drinks that are new to them. So a foreign drink may have a good opportunity in this market.
Tell us what you learned about interviewing customers.
At the first round interview, I started by asking some general questions about daily experience or problem students faced on campus. In the second interview, I tried to narrowed down the area of question to more specific ones. I found that it can lead me to the answer that I want more effectively.
So a few points I have on things you could improve on: first, I think you should try to rephrase your first question about drinks that students like. There seems to be confusion about whether you're asking about alcoholic vs non-alcoholic drinks. These are two very very different markets so I just think it best on focusing questions on just one of these. Second, on the technical side, try to have someone else record or use a stand because the camera is often shaky. I also find its best from my experience if the interviewer is in the shot, and the conversation between you two is being filmed. This, opposed to just having the interviewee look at the camera, can make them more comfortable. I think you got a lot of good info that can help you perfect your idea down the line. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI think you did great with your interviews! I do think that you need to clarify your first question as many people seemed to be confused by it. Focus on one category, which for you seems like it would be non-alcoholic. When you narrow this down, you will get a lot of good answers that pertain to what you are trying to research. The only other thing I suggest is possibly choosing other areas to interview, the noise from the surrounding area is sometimes a bit too much. Other than that I think you did a great job with your interview and questions!
ReplyDeleteHi Wendy!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the other comments, your content is good but with a little tweaking of the wording of the questions, the interviews will proceed more smoothly and with more flow. I think you really try to have a good conversation with your customers. Keep of the good work!
